While the series gave us a glimpse into what a man afraid of everything with OCD but could still solve crimes looked like, it also gave us a glimpse of a young actor namedEmmy Clarke.

Background info
On September 25th, 1991,Mary Elizabeth Clarkewas born to parents Jennifer and Peter in Mineola, Long Island, New York.
She’s known professionally as Emmy Clarke – “Emmy” as in “M” and “E,” her first two initials – and is the middle child and only daughter in her family.
When she was one, her family moved to Houston, Texas, then moved overseas to Woking, Surrey, England, when she was six.
While in the UK Emmy was educated at TASIS and studied ballet for ten years. One last move when Emmy was 11 brought her family back to the States to New York City.
Acting Career
For her first role in 2003, Clarke acted alongside the great Maggie Smith in the mystery romance dramaMy House in Umbria.
Emmy won a Young Artist Award for Best Performance in a TV Movie, Miniseries, or Special for Supporting Young Actress.
The film was nominated for nine Emmys and two Golden Globe Awards, which isn’t a bad way to start your acting career.
Her next movie,Fur: An Imaginary Portrait of Diane Arbus(or justFur), put Emmy on screen with Nicole Kidman, Robert Downey Jr., and Ty Burrell.
In the film Clarke portrayed Grace Arbus, one of Kidman and Burrell’s daughters.
Monk
Clarke’s most famous for her time on the crime dramedyMonk. In the series, she portrayed Julie Teeger, the daughter of Monk’s second and last assistant on the show, Natalie, played by Traylor Howard.
When Emmy started, her character was 11 years old for her first appearance in season three, but in real life Emmy was a young teenager of 14 when her first episode aired.
Now, we could watch Tony Shalhoub act in anything, but Emmy held her own for 24 episodes during seasons three through final season eight.
Her character Julie develops a bond with Monk, and they help each other here and there throughout their time together.
Her character would help Monk solve the case on occasion, and Monk would act as a surrogate father and mentor to her from time to time.
Emmy mentions in an interview that her favorite episode of Monk is the season 6 episode, Mr. Monk and the Three Julies. She said she likes the episode because it allowed her to show a more layered version of her character.
What did she do after Monk?
AfterMonkended in 2009, Emmy appeared in a short calledCapture the Flag,which was about the relationship between a daughter and her father as her parent’s marriage is on rocky ground.
Clarke’s next project was the following year in the TV movieThe Line.She played Jessie Donovan in the drama about a kidnapped teenage daughter and her dad’s race to find her.
Emmy’s last time acting on screen was as Brie in the 2014 dramedyApartment Troubles.
The movie was about two female roommates trying to figure out how to not get evicted from their apartment.

In 2010 Emmy started Fordham University and got a degree in Communication and Media Studies in 2014.
After graduating college Emmy turned her sights from acting to social media. She started working at Good Apple in 2014 and worked her way up to Director of Social Media in 2021.
In 2022 she left Good Apple to go to where we all love to waste our time but still learn things later than we should have – TikTok.
In the summer of 2022, Clarke took over as theTeam Lead for Global Business Solutionsthere.
Does Emmy still feel grateful for her time on Monk? Absolutely. In July of 2022 she posted a sweetthrowback post on her personal Instagramto thank everyone she worked with on the series.

Personal life
Now in her late 20s, Emmy seems to be having a blast enjoying her life. She doesn’t post any pictures of boyfriends or anything to indicate she’s even dating anyone, and she doesn’t have any children.
Instead, her social media is full of happy, fun pictures of Clarke having a blast and living her best life with her close friends.
Whether Emmy will ever return to the screen is something only she knows. But in the meantime, we can enjoy hergorgeous Instagram feed and put Monk back in our binge-watch rotation.
